Our toddler program starts as early as 16 months to 2.5 years old with a teacher to child ratio of 1:5 and the classroom is licensed for a maximum of 15 children at a time. During these ages, toddlers become more independent, their vocabulary expands at the most significant rate, their motor skills become more refined, and their brain is most capable of learning new skills. At ZTYCC, we foster the growth of self-help skills, language development, social awareness and, most importantly, positive problem-solving skills. Our classrooms provide a stimulating environment, as our teachers work to help your child meet all their developmental goals. We provide the children with open-ended experiences and activities that offer and allow children to explore, be engaged and develop fine motor, gross motor, and cognitive skills. Our toddler environment is set up in a spacious area to accommodate for lots of activity and movement. The toddlers will play outside in the toddler playground for one hour in the morning, and one hour in the afternoon weather permitting. This allows for appropriate gross motor skills activities to help your growing toddler coordinate movements and strengthen muscles. Their classroom contains a variety of materials which build on all the developmental domains. The washroom is attached to the classroom and in addition to a change table, there are two miniature sinks. There are also two miniature toilets for any children who are ready for potty training.
